Jerome K. Jerome (1859-1927) was an English writer and humorist. After early work as an actor, schoolteacher and journalist, he found success with the essay collection Idle Thoughts of an Idle Fellow (1886) and then with his best-known book, the comic travelogue Three Men in a Boat (1889). He later wrote further fiction, plays and essays, including the semi-autobiographical novel Paul Kelver (1902).
